3) Artodontia 2023 (UBC Dental Students only)1) Heartfelt Images 2023 (for UBC Medical Students) During your cardio learning spiral throughout years 1 and 2 you are invited to conceptualize artistically your understanding of the cardiovascular system. Winners of past Heartfelt competitions have been exhibited at the National “White Coat Warm Art” exhibit, at the Canadian Cardiovascular Congress, published on journal covers, and included in journal articles. Do know that some previous winning images have been photos shot on iphones by first time photographers and created by students making their first painting or sketch. So… no previous experience in art is required… just enthusiasm and imagination. This will be
a juried competition with jury members from across the province consisting of faculty, cardiologists, and generalists. Entries will be accepted in a wide variety of categories, including oils, watercolour, photographs, pastels, etchings, pen and ink, small sculptures.
All submissions are judged on the following basis: (50%) the connection to the cardiovascular content and (50%) artistic merit
Littman Cardiology Stethoscopes are awarded to the top three submissions (generously supplied by Dept. of Cardiology at St. Paul’s and VGH).
Judging will be carried out online so
all entries must be sent in for judging as digital images. For paintings and sculptures, please include a clear, bright, image of the artwork showing as much detail as possible.

2) WHITE COAT, Warm ART (WCWA) Exhibit 2023

***COVID19 Update: CCME 2023 will be returning in 2023 as an in-person exhibit. If you can attend the exhibit in person please submit your art for the LIVE exhibit. If you can't attend the exhibit in person (or have someone bring/pick up your art) submit your art as a DIGITAL submission.
Deadline for WCWA 23 Submission is: Sunday February 5th, 2023 by 5 PM Pacific Standard Time.We are pleased to announce the “White COAT, Warm ART 23 Exhibit” This exhibit will showcase the creative talents of medical/other health sciences faculty, residents, students, and physicians, and other health professionals from across Canada. This will be
a juried exhibition. Entries can include, oils, watercolors, photographs, pastels, etchings, pen & ink, sculptures/carvings etc.
Artistic Selection: Selection for all pieces will be based on artistic merit, and demonstrated skill in effecting a particular artistic vision in the media chosen.
